etavan eva loke ’smin
pumsah svarthah parah smrtah
ekanta-bhaktir govinde
yat sarvatra tad-iksanam
etavan—this much; eva—certainly; loke asmin—in this
material world; pumsah—of the living entity;
sva-arthah—the real self-interest;
parah—transcendental; smrtah—regarded;
ekanta-bhaktih—unalloyed devotional service;
govinde—to Govinda; yat—which; sarvatra—everywhere;
tat-iksanam—seeing the relationship with Govinda,
Krsna.
In this material world, to render service to the lotus
feet of Govinda, the cause of all causes, and to see
Him everywhere, is the only goal of life. This much
alone is the ultimate goal of human life, as explained
by all the revealed scriptures.
